It Gets Better!

I bet the principal came to work on Monday and was like "WTHOMFGBBQapocalypse! CHANGE IT NAOWWWW!!!"

"Hmmm...holli...holla...holly...Aw hell, NO SCHOOL"

"Fo' shizzal my dismisal"

Do they have Sonny Tannen filling out the announcement boards or something? This happens all the time. I weep for the future.

Also, is it me or does it seem like kids get waaaaaay more time off from school these days? We never got inauguration day off!

though you're right its not funnny... just read a sad commentary not only on the state of the school system but of the college system too.

we are becoming a fat and lazy country. While other countries children take pride in their ongoing educations. I've never met more educated people than my india friends. And their children.

Even with all the technology available to save us time, we've become too busy -- too busy to take time to teach our kids at home, too busy teaching FCAT standards instead of (...fill in the subject), too busy to stop to teach the kids basic manners, too busy to spend time with the kids in the first place. Driving your son/daughter to soccer pratice straight from school while you're on the cell phone the entire time only teaches them that you're too busy... for them.

When we're old and we need those kids, I hope they didn't learn to be too busy to take care of US.

Well, I tried leaving a comment last night but my server had other plans.

Anyway -speaking of kids getting too much time off from school- my boy is home right now, due to 2 inches of snow. Yeh, for incompetence!

That said, come January 15th (day of observation for Martin Luther King Jr.), the school will be open for business, as usual.

Sol, we get "hurricane days" down here, but I'm not sure which is worse!

Maybe I'm just showing my age..."When I was your age, we had to go to school even when..."
